About Dr. Ala Lysyk Smith
Brain Health Expert
Dr. Ala’s goal is to motivate and inspire patients to take responsibility for their health, and in turn experience optimum health.
With her education and experience she has been able to help hundreds of her patients reverse disease, prevent disease, and feel better than they ever thought possible.
Dr Ala Lysyk Smith grew up in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada with four older brothers. She attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. Shortly after completing her education, she married Dr. Kelly Smith. The couple moved to Fergus Falls and opened Smith Family Chiropractic in 1995.
Since that time, her passion for learning found her spending many hours studying nutrition therapy. More so, in 2002 she began to pursue post graduate studies with the Carrick Institute (a world-wide leader in clinical neuroscience education) and in 2005 she became a board certified Chiropractic Neurologist.
She continued to pursue studies with the Carrick Institute, more specifically in concussion, or mild Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) care. She had the honor and pleasure to study under Dr. Frederick Carrick himself, and work alongside him while treating patients– an experience that allowed her to glean from his immense knowledge of the neurological system.
In her spare time, she can’t help but study and learn more about the human potential for optimum health. She also enjoys spending time with her family– swimming, biking, and gardening together.
